A compost turner for a small tractor: prepare the whole setup
Choosing a turner for a small tractor means checking drive, slow travel, windrow dimensions and access. What to prepare before discussing a machine.

A compost turner for a small tractor must fit the whole setup: tractor, windrow and working area. Horsepower alone does not confirm compatibility. Drive, attachment and the ability to move steadily along the windrow also matter.
Manure and plant residues accumulate throughout the season. A small tractor can make turning a repeatable task that can be done when the pile needs it. Start with the equipment and materials already available.
Prepare tractor details and photographs
Provide the make, model and power. Include photographs of the rear attachment and information about the drive available to the turner. We also check low-speed travel capabilities. The machine needs to loosen and mix material, and the tractor must move it at an appropriate pace.
These details help establish compatibility before purchase. “A tractor of about 20 hp” is not enough to confirm a match.
Match the windrow to the working pass
Measure width at the base and height. Describe the material: horse manure with bedding, plant residues or a mixture. Wet, compacted material presents different conditions from loose material.
Photograph the entire working area too. Access is needed along the windrow, with room to line up the equipment and manoeuvre at the end. A narrow yard can limit work even when tractor power is sufficient.
Our small turner
Our 10 kW turner handles windrows up to 170 cm wide and is intended for tractors from around 20 hp. It has an integrated watering system. These figures are a starting point; compatibility with the particular tractor and working conditions is confirmed separately.
See the turners and send us your setup details. For an initial discussion, provide tractor model, windrow dimensions, material type and photographs of the site.
